 AmeriCorps: Legal Aid Available Positions Include Marshallese Liaison
Make a difference for low-income Arkansans and learn about the legal system as a member of the Legal Aid for Arkansans project serving with Legal Aid of Arkansas. Legal Aid of Arkansas is a nonprofit organization that provides free civil legal services to low-income people in 31 counties throughout North and East Arkansas. Eight positions are available, detailed below, including a position requiring fluency in Marshallese to act as a cultural liaison with Marshall Islands - Marshall Islander community in the region.
Americorps members receive a living stipend of just over $11,000 a year, plus eligibility for benefits including health coverage and eligibility for an education award at the end of service.

Washington County would like to inform the Marshallese Community of a job opening for a Training Candidate with Washington County Head Start/ Early Head Start Child Development Center.
Part time position with opportunity for full time, full year position after successful completion of training. Must have a high school diploma and be 18 years of age. Candidate will be a trainee until on or before May 1st with opportunity to be hired full time as a teacher or teacher’s assistant after training period. Candidate must be able to speak, and read, English and be willing to learn new skills. Preference is given for bilingual Marshallese speakers. Must have reliable transportation. The Jones Center, in Springdale, Arkansas, announces the opening for a Commmuity Outreach Coordinator, dedicated to serving the Marshallese in the area. This is a full-time salaried, grant-funded position, which has funding until the summer of 2011.
