Marshallese, Pacific Islanders Invited to Census Kick-Off
The Southern California Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Census 2010 Kick-Off will be held on Saturday, February 27, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at California State University, Dominguez Hills, Loker Student Union in the 2nd Floor Ballroom, 1000 E. Victoria Street, Carson, California.
Greta Briand, Marshallese representative working with Pacific Islander Health Partnership, invites all community members to attend the important event.
"As members of the Pacific Islander Community in U.S., we need to get our fair share of federal and state services," said Congressmen Eni F.H. Faleomavaega (D-America Samoa) in a open letter to members of the Pacific Islander Community in California.
The February 19, 2010 letter drew attention to Census Day (April 1) and reminded all Pacific Islanders to look for the Census Questionnaires in their mailboxes next month and "Get Counted!"
